A note from your hosts
Ours did. We fell for this little chalet the first time we sat in the chair outside — nothing but marri and karri overhead, birdsong in every direction, and the stream murmuring away just below the terrace.
What we love most is the balance. You can spend the morning deep in the forest or beside the river, two minutes down the path, then wander ten minutes into town for a long lunch and a glass of the local red. It feels wonderfully remote — yet everything that makes Margaret River famous is right at your fingertips.
We've furnished it the way we like to travel: proper beds with good linen, a kitchen you can truly cook in, and quiet corners made for doing nothing at all. We hope you feel at home here, the way we always do.

01 — The Chalet
Two restful queen bedrooms, an open-plan living space wrapped in forest views, and everything you need for an easy, unhurried stay — from a Nespresso on the terrace to the hush of the stream after dark.
Sink into the leather sofa as the light shifts through the trees. Warm terracotta floors, soft throws and big windows bring the outside in — and every bedroom has its own reverse-cycle air conditioning and heating, so you're comfortable in every season.
Oven and cooktop, microwave, kettle, toaster and a Nespresso machine — plus a pantry stocked with coffee, tea, olive oil and the essentials. Pick up produce at the Saturday farmers' market and dine in among the trees.
Both bedrooms are made up with quality linen, extra blankets and a choice of pillows. Fall asleep to the sounds of the forest and the stream below, and wake to kookaburras — there's no traffic noise here, ever.
Fire up the barbecue, pour something local and settle in as the forest darkens around you. With a full laundry, free parking for two cars, and complimentary tea, coffee and pantry staples, longer stays are effortless.
02 — Forest & River
The chalet rests on a terraced rise beneath magnificent marri and karri, with a gentle stream running past just below — settle into the chair outside, watch it wind through the trees and listen to its soft rush. The Margaret River itself is two minutes down the path.
Kookaburras announce the dawn, ringneck parrots flash through the canopy, and splendid fairy-wrens hop the terrace steps. In season, red-tailed black cockatoos drift over the valley at dusk.
Follow the stream down through the trees to the Margaret River — two minutes from the door — for a swim, a picnic or a forest walk. After winter rains the cascades run strongly; longer trails wind on into the surrounding national park.
With no streetlights crowding the sky, the Milky Way puts on a show. Bring a blanket out to the terrace, listen to the stream and the boobook owls, and let the forest say goodnight.

10-min walk
Boutique shops, cafés, galleries and restaurants line the main street — an easy stroll along the river path. Don't miss the farmers' market every Saturday morning for local produce, bread and coffee.

River trails begin just beyond the garden. Further afield, the 123-kilometre Cape to Cape Track hugs the coastline between two lighthouses, and mountain-bike trails weave through the surrounding forest.

Prevelly and Surfers Point — home of the Margaret River Pro each autumn — are ten minutes away. Swim the calm curve of Gnarabup, watch sunset at Redgate, or head north to sheltered Meelup and Eagle Bay.

Beneath the Leeuwin-Naturaliste ridge lie crystal palaces millions of years in the making: Ngilgi to the north, Mammoth and Lake caves close by, and the vast Jewel Cave near Augusta.

Stand at Cape Leeuwin, where the Southern and Indian oceans meet beneath mainland Australia's tallest lighthouse. From June to early December, humpback and southern right whales cruise the coast.

Wonderfully close — the town centre is an easy 10-minute stroll or 2-minute drive, and the Margaret River itself is just a 2-minute walk from the door.
Yes — we're family friendly, and a travel cot and highchair are available on request. The forest, stream and river make a wonderful natural playground for little explorers.
We're sorry — no pets can be brought to the property. The native wildlife thanks you for understanding.
No — there is a strict no-smoking policy, inside the chalet and anywhere on the property.

The chalet is a quiet retreat — strictly no parties, schoolies, hens' or bucks' gatherings. We ask guests to keep noise down between 10pm and 10am out of consideration for our neighbours.
